This is Blackberry Phone Type lots of people said “cheap” for new phone. With price Rp. 3.500.000 (in Indonesian) isn’t expensive if to compare with Javelin.

Curve 8520 Gemini design same with 8900 Jevelin series, but different in casing made. Gemini made with plastic texture, more lightweight but look solid and sleek for feature are not as same as Javelin, such camera 2 megapixel and without GPS.

Basicly, Blackberry 8520 or Gemini as same as tour and Javelin because they are from same family, Curve, but Gemini body Series smaler from them. Keypads Blackberry Curve 8520 Gemini using full QWERTY with 35 button, this’s same with Javelin and Tour. Only Storm has been using virtual keyboard in its touch screen.

Unfortunately, QWERTY Gemini keypads are smaler form other series, this matter make dificult when write SMS or writing document. If in Tour, Javelin and Bold using trackball for acess and scrolling menu, Gemini using trackpad, this is the first flat navigation change trackball. Trackpad in Gemini using censor have sensitive to finger touch. For screen dimension Gemini larger from Javelin, 2.64’. But for Resolution Gemini less than from it’s competitor, Gemini have resolution 320x240 pixel and Javelin 480x360 pixel. For screen usage the same with TFT 65.536 color.

OS and Interface.

Diferent with Tour, Blackberry Gemini still using operating system old, v4.6.1 same with Javelin and bold. Because the new software version (v4.7.1) made for touch screen like storm. In processor usage Gemini is under from Tour with clock speed 512 Mhz, but this is the same with Javelin.

For interface, Curve 8520 like with same version software. Structure and icon menu can be customize.

Application and Blackberry Feature

Same with the old series, Gemini still come with special feature, Push Mail in this time there isn’t rival in phone business. For using this feature user must be a customer BIS/BES operator service. And you will get 10 e-mail account ready to use real time.

For setting, Blackberry OS have wizard for setting e-mail client and it is make easier, automatically you will get email account in server.
